According to the Podrobno.uz agency, residents of Uzbekistan in March have gained the opportunity to pay for an additional 50 cubic meters of natural gas at the base tariff. This is due to the extension of "winter" consumption norms because of cold weather at the start of the month and the subsequent transition to summer schedules as temperatures warmed.

To ensure fair calculations, the Ministry of Energy divided the current month into two periods. In the first half of March, from the 1st to the 15th, consumers were allocated half of the winter norm, amounting to 250 cubic meters. In the second half, from the 16th to the 31st, when air temperatures in the republic rose to 22 degrees Celsius, an additional 50 cubic meters were allocated – exactly half of the standard summer norm.

Thus, the total volume of gas that residents can pay for in March at the preferential price of 1,000 soums is 300 cubic meters. Payment at the increased tariff (1,800 soums) will be charged only if this cumulative limit is exceeded.

Starting from today until November 1st (in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Region – until October 1st), the basic monthly norm is set at 100 cubic meters.

Concurrently, social support measures continue to be in effect in the country. According to presidential decisions, needy families receive compensation for energy resources monthly throughout the year. The state helps cover expenses for electricity (up to 150 kWh above the norm) and for natural gas (up to 250 cubic meters in winter and up to 150 cubic meters in other months above the basic limit).
