Fazliddin Salomov has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This appointment is part of the government's policy to strengthen focus on environmental issues, amid growing challenges related to ecological protection and climate change in the country.
Simultaneously, Salomov will serve as the Deputy Head of the State Environmental Control Inspectorate (Ecopolice). The dual role aims to enhance efficiency in environmental monitoring and control, reflecting efforts to improve Uzbekistan's nature conservation system, though its success may hinge on implementation and resource allocation.
Fazliddin Salomov was born in 1966 in Tashkent. He holds higher education degrees, having graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy in 1990 and the Tashkent State Law Institute in 2007. His background in both economics and law could provide a multidisciplinary approach to addressing environmental governance.
In 2011, Salomov was awarded the Order "For Selfless Service." In his new positions, he is expected to play a significant role in advancing environmental policy and climate action, yet the broader impact will depend on systemic support and regional cooperation.
