The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, Turkey, has announced the implementation of an electronic queue system for all consular services starting from March 26. This news was officially disseminated by the consulate itself, with the primary aim of saving citizens' time, reducing long waits outside the consulate building, and ensuring orderly access to services.

To visit the consulate, citizens must pre-register through the official portal. The consulate emphasized that walk-in appointments will only be accommodated in life-threatening emergencies or cases of lost passports on the day of departure for processing return certificates to the homeland. In all other instances, citizens without prior registration will not be admitted.

Adherence to scheduled times is also a critical requirement. The consulate requests that citizens arrive at their appointed time, as delays exceeding 15 minutes will result in automatic cancellation of the appointment. Additionally, it is advised to verify the completeness of all necessary documents and their copies beforehand to expedite the process.

This development reflects ongoing digital transformation efforts within Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad, aimed at enhancing convenience for citizens. However, potential challenges such as technical glitches or difficulties for elderly citizens in navigating digital platforms may arise with the system's rollout, highlighting areas for further attention.
