President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with a report on March 25 regarding the implementation of measures to stabilize production volumes in the oil and gas industry and develop new reserves. The report discussed the dynamics of natural gas extraction within the Uzbekneftegaz system, factors behind the current decline, and compensatory measures being taken. It was noted that in the first quarter of this year, additional volumes were secured through the commissioning of new wells, repair of existing ones, and technological interventions, with plans to further expand work in this direction throughout the year.

Special attention was given to the introduction of modern technologies to enhance well efficiency. Currently, prospective sites are being identified for new 2D and 3D seismic surveys. To strengthen oversight of drilling and field operations based on international standards, measures have been defined to establish a supervision system, refine geological-hydrodynamic modeling, and develop production programs.

The report also addressed issues such as increasing the gas recovery factor at fields, implementing new approaches to hard-to-recover reserves, and assessing the economic efficiency of programs planned for 2026–2027. It was emphasized that relevant work is being carried out in collaboration with international companies in this area.

The head of state stressed the importance of ensuring production stability in the industry, efficiently utilizing existing capacities, systematically organizing geological exploration and drilling operations, and expanding partnerships with foreign partners to yield practical results. Responsible officials were instructed to strictly monitor the execution of the outlined plans and ensure clear outcomes for each direction.
