Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. The management of the State Unitary Enterprise "Tashkent Metro" has commented on reports in social media about a forced train stop at the "Friendship of Peoples" station. According to official data, the incident was caused by a brief technical malfunction of the train.
The incident occurred on Saturday, March 28, at 11:49. A technical failure was detected in train No. 15 (manufactured in 1984) upon entering the station. According to metro authorities, the driver followed internal instructions: promptly reported the incident to the dispatcher and disembarked passengers on the platform.
The faulty train was removed from the line and directed to a technical inspection zone. Currently, the situation is fully controlled by metro specialists. This incident raises questions about the need to update old rolling stock in the Tashkent Metro, as trains from 1984 are still in operation.
Metro administration emphasized that the incident was resolved quickly and efficiently, but such technical issues once again highlight the importance of regular maintenance and modernization to ensure uninterrupted service in the city's key transport system.
