Alimjan Tashkenbayev, a Honored Artist of Uzbekistan and a prominent figure in Uzbek circus arts, has passed away at the age of 81. The Ministry of Culture confirmed the news, highlighting his role as a representative of the globally renowned Tashkenbayev circus dynasty. Throughout his life, he made substantial contributions to the development of national tightrope walking traditions, cementing his status as a key figure in this cultural field.
For many years, Alimjan Tashkenbayev led the "Uzbek Tightrope Walkers" group. Under his direction, the troupe showcased their artistry in numerous foreign countries, including Poland, Germany, Egypt, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador. This international exposure played a crucial role in promoting Uzbek cultural heritage on the global stage.
Since 2006, Alimjan Tashkenbayev served as a director at the "Uzbekcircus" association and worked as a teacher at an estrada-circus college. He mentored many students, imparting his knowledge and skills to nurture a new generation of performers. His legacy will endure through the continuation of traditional circus arts in Uzbekistan and the memories of audiences worldwide.
