Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. Projects that narrowly missed out in the 'Initiative Budget' public voting system have been given a second opportunity. Deputies of the Legislative Chamber now have the authority to personally select and finance vital initiatives that failed to win in the popular vote but are deemed critically necessary for the population.

A total of 238.9 billion soums has been allocated by deputies for these purposes. The funds will be directed towards upgrading roads, schools, and infrastructure in the most challenging and remote areas. Each elected representative identified the most 'pain points' in their constituency. For instance, Robakhon Mahmudova selected the construction of 3 km of roads in the border mahalla 'Gulpiyon' in Fergana Region to prevent children from walking through mud. Maksudbek Kurbanboev addressed the repair of a hazardous bridge over the 'Ok mochit' canal in Yangiaryk, which posed a real threat to people's lives.

The distribution of the allocated 238.9 billion soums is as follows: 102.9 billion soums is earmarked for converting 165 km of dirt streets into asphalt roads, as well as building bridges and sidewalks. 90.6 billion soums has been allocated for the repair of 56 schools, kindergartens, and medical facilities. 45.4 billion soums will go towards improving electricity supply in mahallas and developing sports infrastructure.

Special attention is paid to social facilities. For example, Sevara Ubaydullaeva initiated a major renovation of the 2nd Clinical Children's Surgical Hospital in Tashkent, including updates to the oxygen substation, water supply systems, and installation of elevators. Javlonbek Abdullaev supported the construction of a new 150-seat building for primary classes at a specialized school in Yazyavan District. Deputies will personally oversee the quality of work and the targeted use of every tiyin of budget funds.
