The Tashkent city administration today announced the start of construction for new multi-story buildings in the city center. The project is located in a historical area, where old, dilapidated structures will be demolished and replaced with modern residential and office complexes. Administration representatives emphasized that this project aims to improve urban infrastructure and contribute to economic development.
However, the project has sparked debates among local residents. Several citizens and activists have expressed concerns about the preservation of historical monuments in the city center, as the new construction could damage the historical environment. Additionally, there are complaints about potential traffic issues and negative environmental impacts during the construction process.
In response to these concerns, government officials promised to ensure compliance with environmental and cultural standards in the project design and construction process. They also stated that the project would have a positive impact on the city's economy by attracting investments and creating new job opportunities. Nevertheless, local discontent and issues related to heritage preservation remain unresolved challenges.
