President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has signed a decree on preparations for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence. The jubilee will be held under the motto: "With a Single Homeland, a Single People, We Will Build a New Life, a New Future!".

The document approves the concept and program of festive events, which will cover the entire country—from the capital to the most remote mahallas and villages. The Republican Commission for the preparation of the celebrations is headed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. The celebration is designed to demonstrate the achievements of New Uzbekistan, the growth of the population's well-being, and the strengthening of the country's defense capabilities.

As part of the preparations for the landmark date, a number of large-scale projects are planned: the "Vatan Fidoyilari" monument will be designed by June 1, 2026, embodying the ideas of sovereignty and the images of the builders of New Uzbekistan, such monuments will adorn the central parts of new parks of national unity in all regions.

By August 1, 2026, the book-album "Mustaqillik Zafarnomasi" will be published, detailing the results of reforms in every sphere of society's life. Starting in April, flash mobs and podcasts under the hashtags #Mustaqillik35 and #Uzb35 will be launched on social networks. Television will begin broadcasting a cycle of documentary films "Chronicle of 35 Years of Independence".

The Central Bank will issue a commemorative gold coin "35th Anniversary of Independence" by September. In August 2026, an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the results and prospects of the country's 35-year development path will be held in Tashkent. Special attention will be paid to compatriots abroad: educational campaigns under the slogan "My Pride is Independent Uzbekistan" will be organized for them.

The festive events will include social projects and an independence festival, which will last from April to September. It is also planned to coincide the opening of major industrial, educational, and sports facilities with the anniversary. The names "35th Anniversary of Independence" will be given to one of the new mahallas and a railway station. Funding for the celebrations in the regions will be provided by local budgets and sponsors, while in the capital, expenses will be shared equally by the republican and Tashkent city budgets.
