The 1/8 finals of the Asia Cup boxing tournament for adults concluded in the capital of Mongolia. Following the preliminary bouts, the national team of Uzbekistan maintained a strong contingent, advancing 17 athletes to the next stage of the competition.
In the overall team standings based on the number of boxers continuing to the quarterfinals, the Indian team leads with 19 athletes. Uzbekistan shares the second position in this ranking with the Kazakhstan team, which also has 17 quarterfinalists. The tournament hosts, Mongolian boxers, along with the Chinese team, are represented by 12 participants in the next round.
The high density of results among the leaders of the Asian ring promises intense competition in the upcoming medal bouts. In total, representatives from more than 20 countries, including teams from Japan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, have advanced to the quarterfinal stage.
