At the "Dustlik" border checkpoint between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, customs officers in collaboration with the anti-smuggling department detained a female citizen. She was attempting to illegally bring a batch of jewelry into the country by concealing it within her body.
The incident occurred during entry into Uzbekistan, with the woman deliberately choosing the "green corridor" to avoid attention, but her noticeable anxiety during the control process raised suspicions among inspectors. As a visual inspection yielded no results, special scanning equipment was deployed, revealing the presence of foreign objects.
During the inspection, it was discovered that the detainee was trying to smuggle 15 gold items with a total weight of 54 grams. The seized batch is estimated to be worth approximately 70 million Uzbek som. The woman herself explained that she took this risky step on the instructions of an intermediary for a monetary reward. Currently, customs authorities are conducting a pre-investigation check to identify the client and all circumstances of this attempt to illegally import precious items.
