In the Bukhara region and the city of Andijan in Uzbekistan, individuals involved in the illegal trade of potent medicinal drugs have been arrested. According to the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, these incidents occurred as part of efforts to combat the illicit circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances, highlighting ongoing challenges in pharmaceutical market oversight.

In the Gijduvan district of Bukhara region, a pharmacy manager attempted to sell the drug Nebido for 20.8 million soums and was detained during the transaction. This case raises concerns about potential gaps in supervision over pharmacy networks and the growth of illegal activities in the area.

In Andijan, two citizens sold the potent drug Regapen for 200,000 soums, and during an inspection, 300 packages of the strong substance Tropicamide were found in their possession. The drugs were seized as material evidence. Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code, related to the illegal circulation of potent substances, and an investigation is underway.

This is not the first such incident in the region: previously, an attempt to sell a large batch of psychotropic drugs was thwarted in Andijan. These recurring cases prompt questions about the effectiveness of measures taken by the authorities to combat the illegal drug trade and underscore systemic challenges in ensuring public safety.
