Uzbekistan Airports has issued a warning about the serious threat to flight safety posed by kite-flying near airports. The company's statement highlights that kites can ascend to high altitudes and land on aircraft runways, increasing the risk of collisions, damage to equipment, and emergency situations.

Additionally, strong or reinforced strings can damage aircraft equipment or become entangled in engines, further endangering aviation operations. The company referenced Article 17 of Uzbekistan's Air Code, which classifies kite-flying in airports and adjacent areas as an activity that threatens flight safety.

According to Article 116-2 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, unauthorized use of airspace can result in fines or detention for up to 15 days. Uzbekistan Airports also emphasized that in the event of an aviation incident or disaster, what might seem like mere mischief could lead to criminal liability.

Residents of the capital and visitors are urged to adhere to these restrictions and choose safer locations away from airports for recreational activities. This warning aims to enhance airport security and mitigate potential risks associated with unauthorized aerial activities.
