A dangerous incident occurred in the Tashkent Metro, where a train was filmed moving at high speed with an open door. The video, which spread on social media, prompted an official response from the Tashkent Metro administration, which announced a service investigation into the matter.
According to the metro enterprise, on April 14, 2026, at 12:53 PM, at the Alisher Navoi station, the driver of train No. 34 issued a command to close the doors after passengers boarded. However, one door of the first carriage failed to close completely. Despite this, the driver continued the journey toward the Uzbekistan station.
At the Uzbekistan station, all passengers were disembarked to ensure their safety, and the train was sent for a technical inspection. The metro administration reported that following the service investigation, the driver has been given a strict disciplinary penalty.
Management emphasized that passenger safety remains a top priority and that oversight of the technical condition of trains will be strengthened. Apologies were extended to passengers for the inconvenience caused.
Previously, the Tashkent Metro had denied reports of smoke at the Pakhtakor station, clarifying that it was related to a technical malfunction in an old train.
