Uzbekistan's automotive industry enterprises sold 91,088 vehicles in the first quarter of 2026, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. While UzAuto Motors sales grew by 12%, competitors are recording significantly higher growth rates.
Specifically, BYD brand sales surged by 93%, and Kia sales increased by 65%. Sales of the BYD Yuan Up model grew 5.2 times over the year, indicating intensifying competition in the market. Chevrolet's market share declined from 82.6% to 79.3%, despite its own sales rising by 16%.
These trends reflect the growing competition between local manufacturers and international brands in Uzbekistan's automotive market. UzAuto Motors may need to enhance innovations and marketing strategies to maintain its traditional leadership position.
