At the Central Asia–Germany Forum held in Khiva, the stable positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany were highlighted. Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS), noted that mutual trade exceeded $1 billion by the end of 2025.
Aripov emphasized that over 200 enterprises with German capital are operating in Uzbekistan. Cooperation is increasingly shifting towards technological partnership. He stated that approximately 55% of supplies from Germany consist of high-tech equipment and engineering solutions, reflecting the complementary nature of the two economies.
The ISRS director outlined priority areas for future collaboration: creating specialized industrial zones with special conditions for developing mechanical engineering, chemical, and electrical engineering sectors; jointly exploring and processing critical mineral resources; developing human capital and labor mobility mechanisms; deepening cooperation in ecology and water resources; and forming a systematic partnership model in digital economy and information technology.
Aripov highlighted that the synergy between Germany's technological potential and Central Asia's resource, demographic, and logistical base creates unique conditions for building long-term and sustainable partnership. He summarized, "This is not just about cooperation, but about jointly shaping a new architecture of interaction where technologies and resources, investments and human capital converge."
