The Government of Uzbekistan has approved a decision to provide a 50% discount on certain state services for teachers in the country. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Justice via its Telegram channel. The discount applies to all pedagogical personnel engaged in professional activities in the field of education and upbringing under employment contracts at educational institutions.
According to the decision, the discount covers the cost of the following state services: notarial services, state customs duties, state registration, and other administrative procedures. This measure aims to reduce the financial burden on teachers and strengthen their social protection. The government's move is being evaluated as another positive change within the framework of ongoing reforms in the education sector.
Additionally, the decision establishes new regulations for the management of specialized schools and boarding schools. Directors and deputy directors are required to undergo training in management courses organized by the Ministry of Culture once every 5 years, with a leave from work. This initiative is designed to enhance the qualifications of school leaders and familiarize them with modern management techniques.
Furthermore, clear procedures have been defined for the expulsion, transfer, and change of study location for students in specialized schools and boarding schools. This is intended to streamline organizational aspects of the educational process and reinforce discipline within these institutions.
Previously, Uzbekistan had established a procedure for allocating preferential educational loans to pedagogical staff and youth for studies at foreign universities that hold high positions in international rankings. The loan amounts to up to $20,000 per year, with an interest rate set at the level of the Central Bank's base rate. The debt is to be repaid over 7 years, starting from the 7th month after graduation. This measure focuses on improving the skills of educational personnel and expanding opportunities for youth to study abroad.
