The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan has approved the specific dates and formats for the final state certification exams for 9th and 11th grade graduates in 2026. The exams will commence on June 1 and continue until June 15, providing students with a clear timeframe for preparation.
For 9th grade graduates, mandatory subjects include native language and literature, mathematics, foreign language, and history. These exams are scheduled from June 1 to June 5, with most conducted in written form, and some incorporating both written and oral components. This system is designed to accurately assess students' knowledge in core disciplines.
For 11th grade graduates, the list of mandatory subjects comprises native language and literature, mathematics, foreign language, and history, to be held from June 8 to June 11. Additionally, 11th grade students are required to take exams in elective subjects, which include various languages and literature, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, fundamentals of state law, and foreign language. These exams will take place on June 12 and June 15 in written form, with some including written and oral parts.
While this decision by the ministry is claimed to aim at improving education quality and implementing a standardized assessment system in the country, students and parents may face additional stress and preparation challenges due to the rigid schedule and broad range of elective subjects. This news highlights developments in the education sector, but its practical outcomes remain uncertain.
