In Uzbekistan, the MyGov state services portal has launched an online service for transferring a mobile number to another person. This innovation represents a full digitalization of a process that previously required the physical presence of both parties at an operator's office. Subscribers can now complete this procedure by logging into the my.gov.uz website or the MyGov app, selecting the "Mobile Number Re-registration" service, filling in the details, and submitting an application as both the transferring and receiving parties.
During the application process, both parties must confirm the request via MyID using Face-ID. This new system is designed to ensure the security of personal data and prevent fraudulent activities. The service provision period ranges from 1 to 5 days, offering significant time savings compared to the previous need for office visits and waiting in queues.
Currently, the service is available to subscribers of Uztelecom, Beeline, and Mobiuz operators. For other mobile operators, it will be implemented in stages, reflecting the expansion of digital services across the country. The fee for the service is based on the operators' tariff policies, with some offering it free of charge for close relatives. This development is part of ongoing efforts to advance digitalization in Uzbekistan and enhance the convenience of state services for citizens.
