Uzbekistan held a snap presidential election on July 9, 2024. According to the Central Election Commission, voter turnout was 80.1%.
Incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev won with 87.5% of the vote. Ulugbek Inoyatov from the People's Democratic Party came second with 4.2%.
International observers monitored the election. The CIS mission deemed the vote open and transparent, while OSCE observers noted a lack of competition.
Following the election, President Mirziyoyev pledged to continue economic reforms, develop the social sector, and maintain a balanced foreign policy. Experts believe the results will help preserve political stability in the country.
