The Tashkent City Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has a new leader. Entrepreneur Diyor Mirzaakhmedov has been appointed as the new head of the department.

Mirzaakhmedov was born in 1972 in Tashkent. He earned a degree from Istanbul Technical University in 1994 and later graduated from Tashkent State University of Economics in 2008. He brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and business consulting.

Since 2016, he has served as Chairman of the Board of the Marketing Association of Uzbekistan, which he helped establish. The association is now the largest professional body of its kind in Central Asia. He is also the founder of the advertising agency Siymo.

According to the CCI press service, Mirzaakhmedov's appointment was made on the recommendation of entrepreneurs. Prominent businessman Zafar Khashimov praised the decision, stating it will further develop the capital's business environment.

Earlier, the head of Uzbekistan's CCI, Davron Vakhabov, was elected chairman of the country's Confederation of Employers.
