The government of Uzbekistan has announced a new set of economic reforms aimed at simplifying the tax system and supporting entrepreneurship. The initiatives, discussed at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, are planned to be implemented by 2025.

A key focus of the reforms is reducing the tax burden on small and medium-sized businesses. Specifically, the turnover tax rate is expected to be cut from 4% to 2%. Additional incentives will also be introduced for export-oriented enterprises.

Officials from the Ministry of Economy stated that the new measures are projected to boost GDP growth to 6% by 2025. However, experts caution that achieving this target will require controlling inflation and accounting for uncertainties in external markets.

The meeting also emphasized strengthening anti-corruption measures and digitizing the public procurement system. The government hopes to ensure efficient use of budget funds through these efforts.
