Uzbekistan's railway system has entered a new phase of development with the launch of modern train cars under the 'Yangi Uzbekistan' series by Uzbekistan Temir Yollari. These cars combine high-level comfort with advanced technology.
The lineup includes compartment (61-950) and sleeper (61-951) models, premium SV cars (61-955), special cars for people with disabilities (61-956), and restaurant cars (61-954). Each car features comfortable seating and sleeping areas, individual climate control, eco-friendly toilets, USB ports, modern lighting, and video surveillance.
Special attention has been paid to creating a barrier-free environment, with dedicated entry zones and adapted conditions for passengers with limited mobility.
Out of 70 planned cars, 55 have already been put into operation, with the remaining 15 expected to be ready by the end of the second quarter of 2026. Additionally, local specialists have successfully tested new EP3D electric trains.
The plant has set ambitious export goals: by the end of 2026, it plans to deliver 42 passenger-baggage cars to Russia. This will strengthen the 'Made in Uzbekistan' brand's position internationally.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia's Transmashholding (TMH) intends to assemble a new EP5N electric train in Tashkent, at the Tashkent Passenger Car Production and Repair Plant (TVSRZ).
