In the first quarter of 2026, foreign IT giants providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid 65.7 billion UZS to the state budget, according to the Tax Committee. This is an 81.4% increase compared to the same period last year, when payments amounted to 36.2 billion UZS.
The total volume of digital services provided exceeded 552 billion UZS, up 80% year-on-year. As of April 1, 2026, 89 foreign companies are operating in Uzbekistan offering electronic services. Since the beginning of the year, 11 new participants have been added to the specialized VAT payer register.
Apple made the largest tax contribution, paying 16.1 billion UZS (+51.8% year-on-year), with revenue of 134.8 billion UZS. Google ranked second with 14.9 billion UZS in taxes (+67.4%) and revenue of 123.7 billion UZS. Meta rounded out the top three, paying 13.9 billion UZS (+32.3%) on revenue of 117.1 billion UZS.
The top ten also included Valve Corp. (8 billion UZS in taxes, revenue 69.1 billion UZS), OpenAI (2.5 billion UZS, revenue 21.5 billion UZS), Anthropic (1.5 billion UZS, revenue 12.6 billion UZS), Midasbuy (1.3 billion UZS, revenue 11 billion UZS), TikTok (868.3 million UZS, revenue 7.2 billion UZS), Booking.com (694.7 million UZS, revenue 5.8 billion UZS), and Netflix (570.4 million UZS, revenue 5.1 billion UZS).
The ranking saw notable shifts compared to Q1 2025. Google overtook Meta, while Valve Corp. moved ahead of OpenAI. TikTok dropped from fifth to eighth place, Booking.com from sixth to ninth, and Netflix from seventh to tenth. Three new entrants—Valve Corp., Anthropic, and Midasbuy—joined the list, while Zoom, Xsolla, and ACCA exited.
For the full year 2025, foreign internet companies paid 181.3 billion UZS in taxes to Uzbekistan's budget, 1.5 times more than the previous year. The total volume of electronic services provided reached 1.48 trillion UZS, an increase of 47.7%.
