Uzbekistan is set to introduce a new regulation allowing individuals to withdraw up to 500 US dollars in foreign currency from banks without presenting identification documents. The announcement was made via the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Justice.

The interagency document, developed at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice, was officially registered on May 8.

Under the new rules, customers will be able to withdraw up to $500 without a passport, ID card, or equivalent documents. Currently, the existing limit for document-free withdrawals is only $100.

The changes will take effect in three months, allowing the banking system time to prepare for the new procedures.

It is worth noting that in 2025, Uzbek citizens sold more foreign currency than they purchased. The net difference grew to $9.7 billion (+44.2%), providing an additional source of currency in the market.
