Uzbekistan will introduce new financial support mechanisms for cotton and wheat producers starting from the 2026 harvest. This is stipulated in a presidential decree signed on May 8, titled “On additional measures for financial support of cotton and wheat producers” (No. PF-82).
According to the decree, starting from the 2026 harvest, the Agency for Payments in the Agricultural Sector under the Ministry of Agriculture will compensate part of the costs for purchasing diesel fuel. From April 1 to July 1, 2026, agricultural enterprises that purchase diesel fuel through the exchange will receive a subsidy from the republican budget for the portion of the price per ton exceeding 13 million soums, but not more than 2 million soums per ton.
Starting September 1, 2026, the authority to allocate subsidies to farms from the State Support Fund for Agriculture will be transferred to the Agency. Subsidies will cover costs for seeds, fertilizers, and other resources. These measures aim to reduce the financial burden on farmers and increase agricultural efficiency.
The decree also provides for improving mechanisms for timely and full payment of subsidies. Funding will come from the republican budget and special funds.
