Azizbek Toshtemirov, a former department head at the Migration Agency, has been accused of fraud. His name appears on Interpol's website with a "red notice" for international wanted persons.
Toshtemirov was mentioned in a 2023 Kun.uz investigation into a corruption scheme involving sending workers to South Korea. Video footage allegedly shows him organizing candidate swaps during exams, allowing his acquaintances to take the place of others.
On May 14, the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office announced the dismantling of a criminal group involving former Migration Agency officials. They allegedly collected $7,000 to $12,000 from individuals seeking work in South Korea, on top of official fees—potentially totaling $90 million.
The connection between Azizbek Toshtemirov and this criminal group has not yet been confirmed.
