President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree awarding the creators of the domestic short film 'Qadam. Sunny Child Yusuf' the 'Kelajak Bunyodkori' medal.
The high state honor was bestowed upon freelance creative worker, screenwriter and film director Sukhrob Kadyrov, as well as film director Dilshodbek Usmonov, a student of the Tashkent branch of the Gerasimov All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography.
The award was granted for their bright talent, high professionalism, creative approach, and successful participation in an international film festival in France, where the film won the main prize — the Grand Prix.
The film, produced by the Yoshlik studio on order of the Cinematography Agency, tells the touching story of the relationship between a mother and her son Yusuf, who was born with Down syndrome.
The work of the young directors received triumphant recognition at a prestigious European venue, winning the Grand Prix at the 17th International Inclusive Film Festival ENTRE DEUX CANNES, held in Cannes parallel to the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
The decree notes that the state award is also given for fruitful creative activity in developing the country's cinematography and promoting it globally. The artistic images created by the authors make a significant contribution to raising the spiritual potential of the people, embody national values, and strengthen feelings of love and devotion to the Motherland in the hearts of the younger generation.
