A 13-year-old 7th-grade student from Sariosiyo district, Surxondaryo region, drowned in the Tupalang River, the regional prosecutor's office reported on May 19.

The girl's body was found on May 15 in the neighboring Denov district. Relatives had reported her missing the previous day. According to them, four girls came to the river, and one of them drowned.

Rescuers were involved in the search for the girl. Drones were also used during the operation.

A pre-investigation check is currently underway to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
