A serious traffic accident involving a Nexia 3 occurred in the Sergeli district of Tashkent on May 22 at approximately 1:00 PM. The incident took place on Fayzli Toshkent Street, opposite house 60.

According to the Main Internal Affairs Department, the 25-year-old driver was traveling at excessive speed, lost control, and collided with a concrete barrier on the roadside. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn.

As a result, the 26-year-old passenger died at the scene from sustained injuries. The driver received first aid.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules resulting in death). Investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, in Kokand, a minor driving a Malibu struck three girls on a pedestrian crossing, leading to the death of a 10-year-old girl in hospital.

Statistics show that in the first 3 months of 2026, Uzbekistan recorded 1,102 road accidents with 346 fatalities. Key causes: speeding (32.9%), ignoring traffic lights (22.4%), and failing to yield to pedestrians (13.6%).
