Uzbekistan has presented the concept of the Digital branch of the Central Asian University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change, Green University. This will be the region's first fully digital university, offering online education in English accessible from anywhere in Central Asia.

The digital branch operates without traditional classrooms: learning takes place remotely on a specialized platform with monitoring and student support systems. Graduates will receive state-recognized diplomas from Green University.

The project targets not only Uzbekistan but the entire Central Asian region, with future plans for international students. The platform will be hosted on local UzCloud infrastructure, with the educational system built on Moodle. Digitalization of libraries, scientific journals, and research platforms is also planned.

Special emphasis is placed on accessibility: the online format will make education in ecology and sustainable development easier for students from remote regions. The launch is scheduled within four months, with an initial target of attracting up to two thousand students in the first year.

The initiative's authors believe the digital format will expand access to education and strengthen Green University's position as a regional center for environmental expertise. Earlier, renowned Chinese scientist Tongqian Zou was appointed Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Green University.
