In Jizzakh, specialists from the Inspection for Control in the Field of Technical Regulation, together with employees of the sanitary-epidemiological service, conducted test purchases of Chinese-made children's toys.
The inspection showed that some products do not meet safety standards and pose a threat to children's health. According to specialists, the test purchases were carried out at one of the city's retail outlets.
Several toy samples were selected for laboratory testing: an elastic ball on a spiral thread, a cat's paw toy under the Pinch brand, and an Avengers superhero figurine.
Test results revealed a number of serious violations: a sharp odor, weak resistance of the protective coating to moisture, unreliable fastening of small parts, low mechanical strength, and exceeding the permissible level of formaldehyde.
Experts warn that formaldehyde can negatively affect the respiratory tract, skin, and eyes, cause allergic reactions, and pose a danger to children's health. In addition, small parts of the toys are easily detached, creating a risk of ingestion or injury.
It was also found that the labels lacked the necessary information in the state language. The violations were deemed contrary to the requirements of the "General Technical Regulations on the Safety of Children's Toys."
As a result, warnings were sent to retail outlets, and the goods were withdrawn from sale and banned from sale.
Earlier, specialists checked Chinese toys from the Baby Concert brand in the capital of Karakalpakstan. Laboratory tests showed that the products cannot withstand mechanical loads, break quickly, and can cause injuries to children.
