Uzbekistan national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro held a press conference after the friendly match against Canada, analyzing the team's strengths and mistakes. He emphasized the importance of game intensity and the value of fan support.

Cannavaro stated that mistakes in football are inevitable, but it is better to make them in friendlies rather than official matches. According to him, the team played compactly and aggressively in the first half, but in the second half they tried to control the ball more, losing intensity and making several errors.

The coach noted that since his arrival, the work has been built around high intensity. He acknowledged the big difference between Asian and international football but saw many positive moments in the first half.

Speaking about the opponent, Cannavaro praised Canada's progress in recent years and called their players talented. He also mentioned the cold weather as a challenge for both teams, but it did not prevent fans from coming to the stadium and supporting Uzbekistan.

Regarding upcoming matches against Portugal, Colombia, and Congo, Cannavaro admitted the strength of the opponents but stressed that participating in the World Cup is a historic event for his team, and players should enjoy the experience.

Separately, the coach highlighted defender Abdukodir Khusanov as a promising player with great potential, who needs to learn to read game situations better but already shows a high level of play.

Recall that the Uzbekistan national football team played a friendly match against Canada as part of preparation for the 2026 World Cup finals. The match at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton ended with a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
