A boat capsized in the Janubiy Surxon reservoir in Qumqo‘rg‘on district, Surxondaryo region, on June 1, leaving one person drowned. The regional emergency department reported that the incident occurred around 5:30 PM.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers arrived to find that four of the five people who fell into the water had swum to shore, while one person remained missing and is presumed drowned.

Search operations are ongoing in the reservoir. Officials from the district prosecutor's office, internal affairs, and emergency services are investigating the cause of the accident.
