Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. The main task after signing agreements within the framework of environmental events in Samarkand is to consistently translate the reached agreements into practical results. This was stated by the head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva.

According to her, it was a great honor for her to read the president's message to the participants of the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility, which began its work in Samarkand.

Mirziyoyeva noted that the forum provided an opportunity to discuss pressing climate challenges for Central Asia and the whole world, and once again demonstrated Uzbekistan's growing authority in the global environmental agenda.

She paid special attention to the Eco Expo Central Asia-2026 exhibition organized as part of the Assembly. At its venue, agreements have already been signed to allocate $80 million in grants for the implementation of green projects, as well as to attract more than $520 million in investments.

"Now the main task is to consistently implement these initiatives aimed at preserving nature," Mirziyoyeva emphasized.

According to her, more than 8,500 specialists from 180 countries are participating in the Assembly and exhibition.

Recall that in his message to the Assembly participants, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed granting Samarkand the status of the Green Investment and Innovation Capital of Central Asia, and also put forward a number of initiatives in the field of green economy development and climate change mitigation.
