Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. The head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi.

The head of the key international organization arrived in the republic to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Jizzakh region.

During the talks, the parties discussed in detail issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy. Special attention was paid to the following areas:

formation and improvement of the national nuclear energy infrastructure;

active development of modern nuclear medicine in the republic;

training of highly qualified personnel and specialists for Uzbekistan's nuclear industry.

Uzbekistan continues to systematically strengthen cooperation with the IAEA in the implementation of its major energy and high-tech projects.

It is worth recalling that Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin will launch the construction of the Jizzakh NPP directly from St. Petersburg.
