Construction has commenced on a modern overpass at the railway crossing between the Sobir Rahimov and O‘rtaovul stations in the Zangiota district of Tashkent region, according to Uzbekistan Railways.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Tashkent region governor Zoyir Mirzayev and Uzbekistan Railways chairman Zuhriddin Narzullayev.
The initiative aims to resolve long-standing transportation issues for local residents. A 23.6-meter-long modern overpass will be built at the existing railway crossing.
According to the Tashkent region administration, continuous train traffic at the site caused inconvenience for vehicles and pedestrians, leading to wasted time and safety concerns.
The project also includes the construction of a safe and convenient bypass road.
Uzbekistan Railways stated that after commissioning, the overpass will ensure uninterrupted traffic flow, significantly reduce congestion, and create safe and comfortable conditions for residents and drivers.
