A tragedy occurred on June 10 at the Central Polyclinic of Marhamat district, Andijan region. A 57-year-old plumber, identified as N.I., was poisoned by gas while cleaning a sewage pump aggregate.

Three other employees — a security guard, an electrician, and a sewage truck driver — who attempted to rescue him also succumbed to gas poisoning. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that rescuers recovered four bodies.

According to the Andijan regional administration, two deputy governors were dispatched to the scene on the orders of Shukhrat Abdurakhmanov.

"The families of the deceased were visited, deep condolences were expressed on behalf of the governor, and all organizational issues for the funerals were resolved," the administration's statement said.

A criminal case has been opened and investigative actions are underway. "Based on the investigation results, a legal decision will be made. The situation is fully under the control of the relevant authorities," the administration added.
