Uzbekistan is planning to launch new high-speed rail routes that will connect the capital with Andijan and Termez. The project was discussed during negotiations with South Korea's Hyundai Rotem.
The meeting took place on June 10 in the Republic of Korea, with the participation of Sharofiddin Kadyrov, Chief Engineer of Uzbekistan Railways JSC; Anvar Dushaev, Head of Department at the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan; and Lee Young-bae, President of Hyundai Rotem. The parties discussed plans to launch trains on the Tashkent–Andijan and Tashkent–Termez routes.
During the talks, a project to supply eight modern high-speed electric trains for these routes was reviewed, and technical conditions for their operation were agreed upon. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the project for the supply of the “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” train set, which is being manufactured for Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop joint projects and strengthen partnership.
Earlier, the capital launched the high-speed passenger train “Jaloliddin Manguberdi,” which operates on the Tashkent–Khiva–Tashkent route.
