President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the heads of US financial institutions — President of the US Exim Bank John Yovanovich and CEO of DFC Ben Black — on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The sides discussed the participation of banks in financing strategic projects in high-tech sectors: infrastructure, critical minerals, energy, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.

An agreement was reached with the US Exim Bank to accelerate joint projects on energy modernization.

DFC proposed launching a joint investment platform to support projects in healthcare, energy, and infrastructure.

The need to transition to practical implementation of large-scale projects was emphasized: construction of a new airport in Tashkent, a medical complex in Fergana region, a digital bank, data centers, and dry ports.

Following the meeting, a joint roadmap for project promotion was adopted.

Earlier it was reported that about 3,100 foreign guests from 99 countries are expected to participate in the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June 16-18.
