Uzbekistan national team midfielder Jaloliddin Masharipov will not be able to play in the World Cup due to an injury, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) announced.

The national team will start its World Cup campaign with a match against Colombia on June 18 at 7:00 AM Tashkent time. According to UFA, the team has already held official training sessions in Atlanta and will then travel to Mexico City.

UFA noted that Masharipov had been without game practice for a long time and was unable to fully participate in the training process. The medical staff took necessary measures for his speedy recovery, and all work was carried out according to an individual preparation program.

The results of the player's in-depth medical examinations were officially submitted to FIFA's medical committee. The committee carefully studied the situation and concluded that the Uzbek player would not be able to participate in World Cup matches.

It was reported that Ruslanbek Jiyanov was urgently included in the final squad of the Uzbekistan national team to replace the injured Masharipov. UFA wished Jaloliddin Masharipov a speedy recovery and return to the field.
