TASHKENT – In a move to allow citizens to support the national football team, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has ordered all state organizations to start work two hours later on Thursday, June 18, at 10:00 AM local time. The decision comes ahead of Uzbekistan's match against Colombia, which kicks off at 7:00 AM Tashkent time.

Presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov announced the measure, stating that the head of state wanted to give citizens an extra opportunity to cheer for the national team at home with their families. "The president will watch the match at home with his family and grandchildren. Therefore, he instructed that on June 18, the working day in all state organizations begin at 10:00," Asadov said.

Asadov also conveyed the president's gratitude to the people for their high level of culture and hospitality during the Tashkent International Investment Forum. He noted that foreign delegates repeatedly praised the positive changes in the appearance of Tashkent and other cities.

According to international studies, Tashkent is among the fastest-growing cities in the world, second only to China's Shenzhen and Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, Asadov added.

Currently, delegations from 102 countries and about 3,000 representatives of international organizations are in Uzbekistan. Despite temporary inconveniences from major international events, residents and drivers have shown high culture and understanding of the forum's importance, the spokesman emphasized.

The Uzbekistan vs. Colombia match will be held at the Bunyodkor Stadium with free admission for spectators. The broadcast begins at 7:00 AM on June 18. Podrobno.uz will provide live coverage of key moments.
