Officers from the National Security Service in Namangan region, in cooperation with the regional customs department, have shut down a major drug smuggling channel during an operational raid. Narcotic substances were confiscated from illegal circulation.

During the special operation at the 'Namangan' road patrol post in Pap district, a Cobalt car traveling from Tashkent to Namangan was stopped and searched. The inspection revealed 3 kilograms and 956 grams of hashish in the bag of a passenger born in 1989, a resident of Namangan with a prior criminal record. The drugs were documented and seized as material evidence.

A pre-investigation check revealed that the detained individual acted in collusion with his accomplice and fellow countryman, also born in 1989 and previously convicted. The suspects had smuggled the large batch of drugs from a neighboring state, bypassing official border checkpoints using illegal routes. The second accomplice was also detained in a procedural manner.

A criminal case has been opened against the drug traffickers, and investigative actions are underway. Law enforcement authorities remind citizens that they can anonymously report similar offenses via the short number 1520 of the National Security Service. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
