Tashkent, Uzbekistan — Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan Railways (O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement to introduce modern digital solutions and enhance cyber resilience in the railway sector.
The document provides for the implementation of the project “Introduction of Information Systems for Transport and Mainline Traffic Management, as well as Increasing Cyber Resilience.” It was signed on June 17 at the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The project will be an important stage in the digital transformation of the country's railway industry. Its goal is to improve transport management processes, increase the company's operational efficiency, and create conditions for developing the transport system at a modern level.
Special attention is paid to strengthening the stability and reliability of Uzbekistan Railways' information infrastructure. This will ensure stable and secure operation of key business processes, as well as improve the quality of services provided.
The agreement is another step in the modernization of the national railway operator and reflects the company's commitment to introducing advanced technologies, increasing operational efficiency, and developing Uzbekistan's transport and logistics potential.
Recall that Uzbekistan will soon see the first luxury-class train in Central Asia — the Samarkand Express. The new route will connect Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, offering travelers a unique format to explore the heritage of the Great Silk Road.
