On June 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Azerbaijani Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Huseyn Guliyev, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan, the presidential press service reported.

The head of state noted the ambassador's effective work and personal contribution to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.

It was emphasized that bilateral trade has grown manifold in recent years, 280 enterprises with Azerbaijani investment have been established, and a Joint Investment Company has been founded.

Cooperation projects in geology, agriculture, transport, urban planning, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors are said to be entering an active phase.

At the end of the meeting, the president awarded Ambassador Huseyn Guliyev the Order of Labor Glory for his great contribution to strengthening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The ambassador, in turn, expressed gratitude to the country's leader for the high appreciation of his diplomatic mission and comprehensive support for the development of broad cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

It is worth recalling that in 2022, Huseyn Guliyev was also awarded the Order of Friendship.
