Law enforcement officers in the Andijan region have detained a man who was attempting to transport over half a kilogram of hashish to Tashkent.
The operation was carried out by the anti-smuggling department in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
Based on operational information, a Cobalt car was stopped and searched in the Bustan district. Two packages containing a narcotic substance were found in the passenger's handbag.
Forensic examination confirmed that the seized substance was hashish with a total weight of 505 grams.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the detainee was supposed to deliver the drug to Tashkent. He was promised 100 million soums for completing this task.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact, and the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, an attempt at a large-scale drug deal was thwarted in the Samarkand region. Three local residents were caught red-handed while selling hashish worth tens of thousands of dollars.
