Uzbekistan is implementing a large-scale two-year program to develop tourism infrastructure in the regions, which includes the construction of 34 major tourist facilities and over a thousand accommodation units, including 200 hotels.

It was reported that the newly opened Kumushkon Resort tourist complex in Parkent district used 98% locally produced construction materials.
