According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a major fraud involving the sale of state reserve land has been prevented in the Tashkent region. Suspects attempted to sell 4 hectares for $400,000.

A 39-year-old citizen, together with two accomplices aged 43 and 36, tried to fraudulently sell a land plot in the Yangiyul district intended for livestock farming and held in state reserve. They promised to arrange the paperwork through acquaintances in high positions.

The 4-hectare plot was valued at $400,000 — $1,000 per hundred square meters. Law enforcement officers detained the group members while they were receiving $20,000 of the agreed amount.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 4, Clause 'a' of the Criminal Code (fraud committed on an especially large scale). Investigative actions are currently underway.
