President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the 'TOP-100' program during a meeting with youth on June 30, aimed at identifying and preparing young leaders for managerial positions.
According to the head of state, out of 87,000 civil servants, 16,500 are under 30, with 902 holding leadership roles. The president urged ministers and governors to trust youth and appoint them to responsible positions.
The 'TOP-100' program will be implemented in five areas: new economy, IT and artificial intelligence, education, medicine, and agriculture. The competition is open to youth in Uzbekistan and compatriots abroad.
The competition will be held every two years. 100 winners will receive a cash prize of 50 million soums each and be appointed to leadership positions. Each ministry must launch its own 'TOP-100 talented youth' program.
Participants will be sent for internships in international organizations in relevant fields. Officials have been tasked with approving a plan to send 2,000 young people annually for international internships.
Additionally, the 'Youth League of Uzbekistan' platform will be launched. Young people can upload their achievements, and ministries will assign scores. High-scoring individuals will receive educational grants, contract discounts, 'professional vouchers', overseas study funding, preferential loans, accelerator programs, foreign internships, inclusion in the civil service reserve, and preferential mortgages.
At the end of the year, top-performing youth will be ceremonially awarded. According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the 'Youth League of Uzbekistan' will become a nationwide movement uniting all youth in building New Uzbekistan.
