Uzbekistan has recorded a new summer peak in electricity consumption. The Unified Energy System reported daily consumption of 284 million kilowatt-hours, surpassing both previous summer highs and the winter record.

The surge is attributed to extreme heat and increased use of cooling appliances. In response, energy officials have called on consumers to use electricity rationally.

“We ask consumers to use electricity rationally and economically. We especially recommend setting air conditioners to 24–26 degrees Celsius,” the officials stated.

Experts note that this setting reduces energy consumption, eases equipment load, and maintains comfort. Regular cleaning of air conditioner filters is also advised.

To ensure stable supply, emergency repair crews are working in enhanced mode. Recent days saw repairs to network sections in Tashkent and restoration of power lines damaged by strong winds in Kashkadarya region.

Infrastructure modernization continues, including upgrades to power plants, substations, transformers, and transmission lines.

Officials warn of possible temporary outages during peak hours due to technical issues but assure that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain stable electricity supply amid high demand.
